History
"As Aussie As" was created two and a half years ago after the owners of the business (Bronwyn & Merv Gillespie) returned from a trip around the most popular tourist destinations in the state.
They sadly found that genuine Australian made souvenirs and giftware were almost totally unrepresentative and indeed, most so called "Australian "souvenirs are imported.
While Bronwyn is a very accomplished artist with examples of her artwork displayed in many overseas countries, Merv has an extensive sales background. Together they have established a top quality range of genuine Australian giclee prints that are very affordable.
Quality
All "As Aussie As" prints are produced on a cotton rag based substrate using archival inks. This method not only produces better resolution with an almost 3D effect, it also gives a life expectancy with proper care of between 80 and two hundred years.
Our prints are all badged with a metal plaque identifying the subject, the fact that is a fine art print and by the inclusion of a maniature map of Australia, the origin of the print.
For the first time in 2006 "As Aussie As" entered a print in the national annual "Memento" awards and qualified as a finalist.
